The Paus 853 S8 Hangout Handler is a hydrostatically driven machine with hydraulic manipulator for handling of explosive material. The articulated vehicle is equipped with a water-cooled 75 kW Deutz BF4M 2012 Diesel engine, complied with COM II. Further details are four-wheel drive, oscillation of the rear axle and individual extendible supporters for tilt compensation. The height of the turret of the new 853 S8 Hangout Handler is reduced by 300 mm for better visibility and safety during driving operation. Additional safety features are automatic lock for rear axle during handling, ROPS/FOPS cabin with guard grid and deflectors on the telescopic boom. The compact dimension of the machine enables the use in minimal gallery sizes. Due to the double telescopic boom in combination with the manipulator the vehicle can reach great hights by compact dimensions. The manipulator has a placement device at the end of the boom, which is able to position a blasting conus under a defined press force. There is also a characterization unit on the telescope boom for 3D topography scans to localize the right position for the explosive material. Different video cameras and sensors support the driver during the working process.
