Es un explosivo agente de voladura tipo hidrogel a base de nitrato de amonio con una composición de sustancias gelificantes que evitan la segregación en agua de los componentes presentes en la mezcla, requiere un multiplicador (Pentofex) para su iniciación. Fácilmente sumergible en agua y con alta energía especifica. Presenta gran seguridad en su manejo, debido a su baja sensibilidad al roce y al impacto. No contiene nitroglicerina. Empleado en explotaciones a cielo abierto (de rocas blandas a semiduras) y en minería con presencia de agua.
AV 800 is a hydrogel-type explosive blasting agent based on ammonium nitrate with a composition of gelling substances that prevent the segregation in water of the components present in the mixture. It requires a booster (Pentofex) for its initiation. Easily submersible in water and with high specific energy. It presents safety in handling due to its low sensitivity at friction and impact. Does not contain nitroglycerin. Used in open pit operations (from soft to semi-hard rocks) and in mining with the presence of water.
